(From Postsecret)

This might seem childish, but at 11.11 a.m. today, Dhama and I gave simultaneous excited squeaks and made a wish. It was during a Chemistry lesson that we didn't understand and half the class was skipping anyway -- we figured our lecturer wouldn't have noticed us closing our eyes and looking constipated for a mere minute.

11.11 a.m. on the 11th of November in the year 2011. I'd been looking forward to this date for years. When I first heard about it, it seemed so far away...but now the day is over, and I managed to wish on both 11.11s. They were different wishes, but both were important. The first (the real 11.11 11/11/11) was for many people -- I felt this was only right, it being such an important wish. The second, however, was for me. And of course I can't tell you what either one was, for fear of them not coming true.

Okay, so maybe it is childish. It might not even mean or amount to anything, wishing on 11.11. But that act gave me hope at a time when things were terrible, and something I wished long and hard for really did come true. I don't sit by the clock and count down the seconds like I used to do, but if I happen to catch 11.11, I still do make a wish. It makes my day (or night) a little bit better.

Did you make a wish?

  1. Hey?! Its not childish :) cute but definitely not childish--Hope it comes true!! <3
