Tumblr and Harry Potter

While pretty much every Potterhead on Tumblr rejoices, I am still sulkily awaiting my Pottermore email. Sharona was the first of my friends to get in, and she was ecstatic to be sorted into Ravenclaw. Trisher and Megan have been sorted into Slytherin and Gryffindor respectively, and I sit and wait and hope, hope, hope I join Sharona in Ravenclaw. People have gotten their wands and started classes and are earning house points, and all I can do is wait, sulk, and seek solace on Tumblr.

Ever since the last HP movie, there's been a steady stream of gifs, photosets, and quotes on the site. A lot of the serious ones are about Snape, who (SPOILER!) was really the good guy all along, and Fred, who (SPOILER AGAIN!) died. However, most of them are humorous, light-hearted, and incredibly funny.

Click on the pictures/gifs for links!

The bottom picture is from another movie Daniel Radcliffe was in.

However, my absolute favourites are the HP/Mean Girls crossover ones. Have you ever watched Mean Girls? No? Are you a teenager? Yes? You need to watch Mean Girls.

I don't want to spam my own blog, so this, this, and this are a few more of my favourites. Harry Potter and Mean Girls ftw.

Another thing that's plastered all over Tumblr are OTPs. OTP stands for 'one true pairing', which is basically the romantic relationship (whether existent or not) between two characters that you're in support of. The two most popular pairings from what I've observed are Dramione (Draco/Hermione) and Drarry (Draco/Harry). Both of them seem canon ('realistic') enough, but I'm not quite in support of either one of them. In fact, I don't agree with Hermione being paired with Ron, either. I see her with one of the twins, Fred or George. Her brilliance and practical mind would sort of tamp down their over-the-top exuberance, and they could convince her to let go a little and have some fun. My OTP is either Fremione or Geomione, then, I guess. Probably Geomione, since Fred is, well, you know... Dead.

On to less depressing things!

Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only person in the world who doesn't find neither Tom Felton or Rupert Grint attractive. I suppose I can understand why people like Tom, but what exactly is appealing about Rupert?

One of the better pics I've seen of him.

He just looks really blur and dopey all the time; the fact that you can't really see his eyebrows nor eyelashes doesn't exactly help matters. I have friends who are all, "Omg, Rupert Grint is so sexy!" and I honestly just don't see it.

You know whom I like seeing, though?

Oliver Phelps.

At one of the premiers for HP 7.2

There was a point in time when people were obsessing over the Phelps twins, but I ignored it; I'd seen the movies, and they looked awful with their orange hair. (This was probably after the fourth film, when they sported those awful long haircuts.) Y'know, now that I think about it, the only movies where they didn't look weird were the last two. Well, anyway, time went on, my hormones went out of wack, I came across pictures of the twins with their natural hair colour... Right now, I am convinced that Oliver has the best smile in the entire world.

Seeing quadruple.
(You want to be looking at
the top left one, though.)

Now, most of you are probably wondering why or how in the world I'm fangirling over one half of a pair of identical twins. See, they're not quite 'identical down to the last freckle' as Fred and George were. Oliver, older by thirteen minutes, has a narrower face than James, and his eyes are less wide-set. They also appear to be slanted downwards more, making him look somewhat older and sadder. (How appropriate, then, that he was cast to play George -- the loss of one's twin would make anyone sad.) He also has two moles on the right side of his neck, which you can just see here:

That's Oliver on the left and James on the right.

I think more people are into James, the 'better-looking twin', but whatever. Oliver all the way for me!

So this was my waiting-for-Pottermore and Oliver Phelps appreciation post. I'm gonna go check my inbox for the millionth time tonight now. In the meantime...
