Thankyou, everyone, for all the comments and words of wisdom regarding my last, last post. If anyone found it offensive, I apologise -- I was feeling rather out of sorts, and when I'm feeling out of sorts, all kinds of things come out without my thinking very much about it first. But then I was thinking a lot. I guess I was only thinking one way, if that makes any sense at all. It does to me, though.
On a much lighter note, I applied to join BRATs this year. For those who don't know, it's basically a journalism workshop that, quite frankly, sounds rather awesome. I don't actually know what goes on during the workshops, if I were to be honest, but the blog posts of past participants gave them shining reviews, so...yeah, I suddenly really wanted to go.
Actually, the 'not wanting to go' switch wouldn't have been flipped had Daniel and Jacie (both on the same day!) not asked me if I was applying. I'd read about it in the papers and was interested, but figured my parents wouldn't let me go, it being my SPM year and all. However, Jacie convinced me to attempt to convince my mom, and to my surprise and delight, she said yes!
So, if you're interested, here's the under-1000-word essay I wrote on myself, as instructed. It's exactly 999 words long. I kept to the word limit, right..?
Comments and critique are welcome. Hint hint.
